Book Description: Does your head tell you that modern science has most (if not all) of the answers, but your heart say something different?
Do you know somehow that there must be more to life than simple chemistry, but are not sure exactly what?
Is your balloon of hope and love tethered down by ropes of scepticism and fear of ridicule?
Welcome to the mindset that I occupied for many years until I broke free from my self-imposed mental shackles to become the joyous spiritual being that I now am...without abandoning the science that got me here!
My name is Brian and I want to take you on a most unusual journey. This is a journey which started with my life's passion- health and healing, but took me somewhere completely unexpected and so surprising that I even resisted it for what now seems a very long time.
On the way, this journey took me from being someone who felt so strongly that spirituality had no place in science that I actually wrote to a well-known author questioning his mere mention of spirituality in health...to the very different person that now proudly presents to you my new book The Science of Spirituality: The evidence that took me from an ultra-sceptical scientist to a joyful spiritual man.
Despite its reluctant concessions to a few specific branches of alternative medicine, very little has changed in the average hospital in recent years to accommodate either the traditional branches, such as Ayurveda, Chinese medicine or homeopathy or some of their more esoteric (but equally valid) cousins.
Unless you are very lucky, the type of medicine you will be offered consists of pills, potions, surgery and the wealth of common problems that accompany each of these. Little, if any credibility is given to alternative approaches, and most likely they are feared, scorned and even ridiculed.
Indeed, I was one of those who was so convinced by the dogma of modern medicine that I readily scoffed at the alternative practices...until, that is, I actually took some time to look into it. That first, sceptical look shocked me so much that I began to investigate with increasing enthusiasm until the first result - my website (Natural Health Information Centre) was conceived, gestated and eventually born onto the World Wide Web in 2003. Two books have followed and the site now generates over 15,000 visitors a week, despite being a little outdated and limited by my own web-building skills!
Somehow though, a piece of the puzzle was still missing. I began to look into what seemed like more and more esoteric material, and in the process gradually developed a sense of my own spirituality and my connectedness to all that is - a wonderful result in itself, but somewhat shocking from my previous perspective.
How then, could I reconcile these two halves of myself, which seemed so desperately at odds with each other and so completely incompatible?
The answers have gradually unveiled themselves to me (and are still continuing to do so) as I proceed further down my path that was until so very recently obscured by an impenetrable-looking jungle of facts, figures and scientific proof. As I have gradually become braver with my mental machete, so have the most relevant teachers, writing and studies presented themselves, such that today there is a very definite path through the dense vegetation of my mind-forest, lit by the most glorious light, to which I had, until very recently, been completely blind.
The Science of Spirituality will take you on my journey down this path, exploring areas of reality that were (to me, at least) completely uncharted and fraught with not just danger, but the risk that I might have to re-draw my map of the World if I discovered even a single shred of evidence that there may be some truth to commonly held spiritual concepts. The resulting oases and glimpses of what now seems so glaringly obvious were at times blinding, but always illuminating.
Whist examining the evidence that supports these spiritual principles, we will also consider how they affect our lives, how they work and what YOU can do to begin applying these principles to your own life.
Along the way we will perform some fun and simple experiments (DO try his at home!(TM)) that you can use to prove these concepts for yourself... and for any fellow-sceptics out there. Several more books are planned looking at just HOW spirituality affects health and some ways you can use spiritual exercises and practices to maintain, improve and even recover your health.
Just for fun, I will be providing you with a new web-based resource where you can share the results of your experiments, discuss your findings with others and discover new ways of investigating reality for yourself. This will be available at http://www.Science-of-Spirituality.com and is just one of the ways we will be sharing to explore this exciting, new vision of All that IS.
This journey has re-awakened my passion for life and given me a whole new reason for being! If you get even a fraction of the joy, passion and excitement reading it that I have received from writing it, I will be immensely happy.
I hope you enjoyed this taste of what is to come - please VOTE for me if you'd like to read the book - I'd love to send it to you when it's finished!
With joy, peace and gratitude
Brian

Author(s) Bio
Brian: of the Adamson family: Brian is....Brian. There is simply no better way to describe him that would be quite so appropriate!
Sometimes he is down-to-Earth, sometimes esoteric; at times calm and introspective, at others vocal and passionate.
Brian is an avid reader of varied subjects from health and wellness to quantum physics and the nature of reality. He is equally at home with a good novel (Kate Mosse and Kathryn McGowan are recent discoveries) to modern philosophy (such as Eckhardt Tolle's "A New Earth") or books on "alternative" history.
Having decided to leave the corporate World behind some years ago, Brian is passionate about natural living and "getting back to nature". He is keen to help manifest the visions of living in harmony with nature espoused by Anastasia of Vladimir Megré's "Ringing Cedars" series, despite his fingers not being entirely green (yet!)
When not devising new projects for saving the World, Brian has written, built and maintained his website (http://www.natural-health-information-centre.com) from scratch to become a top web-based resource on natural health that has been top-listed in Google for several years (currently #1 and 2 of 91,100,000 for the search "natural health information")
