| Book Description:
How many of you ever wished you could spend some time with a historic and spiritual figure, who could explain some of the mysteries of the universe and lost ancient wisdom. Well in my my book that is exactly what happens to me. Adam or the first man as Christians, Jews and Muslims call him, visits me for seven days, which are full of growth, humor and enlightenment.
During this visit, Adam explains that he is greatly misrepresented in some of the major religious text and he is not responsible for mankind losing paradise or inheriting a legacy of sin. However, instead, he gave us the beautiful gift of a life of choice and free will. So he has chosen me to tell his story to and pass it on to the world.
Wait until you read how Adam talks about Eve with both fondness and reverence. He discusses the sacred role she played for mankind and the spiritual legacy I even learn about paradise or Eden. And, guess what! It really does exist. You will be even more surprised when I tell you about Adam's physical appearance. All I will tell you now, is that we all resemble him in some way.
On a personal level, Adam helps me with some of the many questions that a lot of us have about how religions present and define God to us. Ultimately, he empowers me to affirm a unique set of beliefs about God, creation and life in general and I will share them with you.
Think about it! Many of us never question or challenge the religious teachings, which we adhere to? How many people die without choosing to search for the truth or even consider the validity of other beliefs about God, creation and existence?
As a former chaplain in a major trauma hospital in Washington, DC, I prayed over so many dying people and often wondered if they had ever searched for the truth. I felt it was tragic if they had not.
According to Adam. The search for truth is why we are on this earth and that there are universal truths and personal truths as well. And we must find both?
7 Days With Adam, will make you laugh and think about your journey on this earthly plane, expand your spiritual practice and most of most of all. hopefully it will encourage you to be open to new and other beliefs about the Creator.
Finally, I view this book as a way to reach a broader audience with my multi-faith message that we are children of one God bound by our common humanity and divine spirit. This is the ultimate lesson that Adam has come to teach. This is what I discuss so often in my newspaper Blog, on my website and presentations and will continue to do so.

Author(s) Bio
Jay Speights: Jay is a spiritual coach and author, who writes for The Washington Times online edition, where he provides social, spiritual, and political commentary. From 2006-2008, he wrote a column called All Paths, on UPI's, ReligionAndSpirituality.com. The All Paths Column focused on how an interfaith approach can be a key ingredient in bringing peace to many of the troubled regions in the world. Jay always says, we must focus on our shared moral and community values, and not our differences.
A recent post from his Washington Times Blog called: "Another Polite Challenge", motivated the City Council of Washington, DC, to pass a resolution declaring March 20, 2010, "Polite Day". The resolution was the result of his post asking the DC Government to appeal to DC residents, political leaders and commuters to be more polite and civil as they move about their neighborhoods and business in The District of Columbia.
On February 24th, Jay organized The Haitian Prayer vigil at The United Nations Church Center, in New York, with The Chaplain's Office for the United Nations Church Center, The Haitian Church of God and The World Council of Churches.
His first book, "Harmonious Day, which is a multi-faith perspective on finding and maintaining balance and harmony in daily life was released in August 2007. He also received The Punjabi Literary and Cultural Society Award for Distinguished Commentary at Lincoln Center in New York in November 2007.
Jay is an on-call chaplain at The Washington Hospital Center, in the District of Columbia, where he was the first interfaith minister to train in Clinical Pastoral Eduction (CPE). He is a graduate of Howard University, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science and a M.A. in Public Affairs. In 2005, he graduated from The New Seminary in New York and was ordained by The Interfaith Temple.
